Strengthening team spirit, connecting colleagues and promoting EFSA’s “PlantHealth4Life” campaign, whose ambassador is the Croatian Agency for Agriculture and Food (HAPIH), were the main goals of the HAPIH team’s participation in this year’s B2Run business race in Osijek.
Despite very high temperature, the employees of HAPIH centres in Osijek joined the other competitors, of whom there were almost 700 this year, and ran or walked five kilometers of the Osijek Promenade and Podravlje. According to the organizers, B2Run is an internationally oriented race and its main objectives are to encourage team spirit, a sense of belonging and a healthy lifestyle.
This race was a great opportunity to emphasize the connection between human health and plant health, which is also the focus of the “PlantHealth4Life” campaign, because healthy plants mean healthy and safe food. Therefore, we came up with a creative slogan “I won’t bring myself flowers, I’ll run 4 plant health 4 hours!”, which embellished the competition shirts of the HAPIH team and through which we wanted to emphasize the importance of responsible behaviour when traveling, i.e. not bringing plants into the country without a plant passport, as this could potentially lead to spreading new harmful organisms to the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
